Use this page when setting up DealerDevice Online on a new computer, phone or tablet, or when printers, copying and local files are not available inside the remote session.
Protecting access to your account
We strongly recommend setting up DealerDevice Online on more than one device. This gives you another way to access LeaseMaster if your primary computer or mobile device is lost, stolen, damaged or unavailable.
If a device is lost or stolen, sign in from another device and use the password-change process described in your original welcome email.
Change the password, then log off and reconnect using the new password.
Connecting from a Windows computer
- Locate the DealerDevice Remote Desktop connection file provided with your account.
- Save the file somewhere easy to find, such as your Desktop or Downloads folder.
- Double-click the connection file.
- Enter your DealerDevice username and password.
- Accept the connection prompt if Windows asks whether you trust the remote computer.
Using classic Remote Desktop Connection
Press the Windows key and type Remote Desktop Connection.
You can also press Windows + R, type:
mstsc
Then press Enter.
- Select Show Options.
- Open the Local Resources tab.
- Check Printers.
- Check Clipboard.
- Select More.
- Check the local drives you want available inside DealerDevice Online.
- Return to the General tab and connect.
Printers, clipboard and local files
- Printers - allows DealerDevice to print to printers installed on your local computer.
- Clipboard - allows copying and pasting between your computer and DealerDevice Online.
- Drives - allows DealerDevice to open and save files through redirected local drives.
Disconnect from DealerDevice Online, enable printer redirection in the connection settings, and reconnect.
The printer must already be installed and working on the local computer.
Using Windows App
- Open Windows App.
- Locate the saved DealerDevice connection.
- Open the connection's settings or edit screen.
- Find Devices and audio, Device redirection, or Devices and folders.
- Enable printers, clipboard and the folders or drives you want to use.
- Save the connection and reconnect.
If Windows App does not show the printer or drive options
you need, use classic Remote Desktop Connection with
mstsc.
Connecting from a Mac
- Install Windows App from the Mac App Store.
- Open Windows App and select the Devices tab.
- Select the plus (+) button.
- Select Add PC.
- Enter dealerdevice.app in PC Name.
- Enter your DealerDevice username and password.
- Save the connection and open it to connect.
Edit the saved connection to enable clipboard, sound and local folder redirection. Redirected Mac folders appear inside the remote Windows session as network drives.
Connecting from an iPhone or iPad
- Install Windows App from the Apple App Store.
- Open the app and allow local network access if requested.
- Tap the plus (+) button.
- Tap PC.
- Enter dealerdevice.app in PC Name.
- Enter your DealerDevice username and password.
- Save the connection.
- Tap the saved computer to connect.
A physical keyboard and mouse or trackpad are recommended for regular DealerDevice use.
Connecting from Android
- Install Windows App from the Google Play Store.
- Open the app and tap the plus (+) button.
- Tap PC connection.
- Enter dealerdevice.app.
- Enter your DealerDevice username and password.
- Save the connection.
- Tap the saved computer to connect.
A physical keyboard and mouse are recommended for regular DealerDevice use.
DealerDevice is designed primarily for a Mid to full-size screen.
Smart Phones can be useful for mobile access, but a Windows computer, Mac, iPad or Android tablet with a keyboard is recommended for office work.
Printer and file-redirection options can vary by device and operating-system version.
Changing your temporary password
- Sign in using the temporary password provided by LeaseMaster.
- Click the Change Password button inside DealerDevice Online.
- Enter the temporary password and choose a private new password.
- Complete the password change.
- Log off DealerDevice Online.
- Reconnect using the new password.
After the successful password change is detected, the Change Password button will no longer appear.
Troubleshooting
The connection will not open
Confirm that the computer has internet access and that the server address and username were entered correctly.
Copy and paste does not work
Disconnect, enable Clipboard in the Remote Desktop connection settings, and reconnect.
Local files are not visible
Disconnect, enable the required local drives or folders, and reconnect.
The printer does not appear
Confirm the printer works locally, enable printer redirection, and reconnect.
The password is rejected
Check capitalization carefully. Temporary passwords are case-sensitive and may contain letters, numbers and symbols.
